Works under the supervision of the Director of Special Education, Principal, and Behavior Specialist to implement an effective behavior management plan for students with autism and behavioral concerns.
~works one on one with students to affect behavior changes
~evaluates student needs and provides interventions to redirect behavior
~implements behavioral programs designed to make positive and appropriate changes
~assesses crisis situations and defuse situations using conflict resolution and crisis management techniques
~reinforces appropriate behaviors and redirects negative behavior
~with proper training, physically restrains students if necessary for safety
~willing to participate in staff training in the areas of: Behavior Modification, CPI, Environmental Biasing, Non-Verbal Communication, Sensory Needs, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Data Collection
